Introverts in the Workplace

Never stop poking this bear…

MANAGING SMARTER

PI Worldwide UK recently posted the article: Don’t underestimate the value of introverts in the workplace, which is a fantastic read by the way….and it got me thinking about how many jobs require (saying this tongue in cheek) high-engagement, interpersonal communication and teamwork.  For such jobs, “extroversion” is often identified as an important quality. Our culture admires individuals that can speak up in meetings and contribute, collaborate, throw ideas on the wall and see if they stick. As this article points out businesses need to recognize and value what the introvert brings to the table:  critical thinking, problem solving and operational efficiency to the work world.
